Between St. Patrick’s Day 2023 and 2024, more than 40 new slots with an Irish theme were released. Ancient Egypt, and especially Cleopatra, is an equally common slots trope. However, Jelly and Yggdrasil have somehow taken two of the most obvious, even lazy, motifs and created something quite different.
Let’s not get too carried away, though. The features are not exactly reinventing the wheel. Although there is no standard free spins bonus, the Hold and Win replacement has been seen many times before. Random mystery symbols and expanding wilds are entertaining, but they’re not innovative.
