Pirate's Run Details, RTP and Volatility
SYNOT Games went with a traditional 5x3 reel grid for their Pirate’s Run slot. However, the five fixed paylines are less than you’d typically expect from similar slot setups. This layout does work really well with the expanding wilds mechanic, though. Here, the wild symbol can grow to cover the entire reel, should it form part of a win.
Although Pirate’s Run has a default Return to Player value of 95.97%, there are higher and lower RTP versions available at some online casinos. These RTP percentages range from 85.12% to 97.97%, so be sure to check before you bet.
The bet limits range from $0.10 to $200 and players can walk away from this swashbuckling adventure with a 500x maximum payout. Finally, the slot has a medium volatility rating, implying that the size of wins and payout frequency are nicely balanced.
Theme & Graphics in Pirate's Run
Unsurprisingly, Pirate’s Run takes place on a ship, underlining the game’s theme. The slot is also set at dusk, with a breathtaking view of the sunset visible in the background.
Clichés abound in this slot, with plenty of pirate paraphernalia serving as the game’s symbols. For instance, you’ll encounter a treasure chest, a gunpowder barrel and a one-eyed pirate captain on the reels.
Despite using a rather common and popular theme, SYNOT Games differentiates this release through its crisp graphics and high resolution animations. As for the soundtrack, a dramatic orchestral number plays throughout, with interjecting pirate shouts, gunshots and laughter.
Pirate's Run Slot Features
This section of our Pirate’s Run review is devoted to the slot’s various features. Let’s unpack them right away.
Regular Symbols
As referenced earlier, the Pirate’s Run slot relies heavily on stereotypical piracy tropes, no more so than with its symbols. There’s a bottle of rum and an anchor, for example, which pay 20x and 30x for hitting five on a line. Land three of these to earn 3x and 4x, with 6x and 8x for matching four-of-a-kind.
The higher-paying icons are the compass, gunpowder barrel, treasure chest and the ship’s captain. You only need two of these to secure a prize, with 3x, 4x, 5x and 8x up for grabs respectively. The most rewarding symbol is the captain. Landing five of him returns the maximum 500x and ends the game round.
Lower-paying icons are cherries, lemons, oranges, plums and watermelons. All of these offer a maximum payout of between 4x and 8x for five on a payline.
Wilds
The wild features a depiction of a female pirate holding a gun. It only appears on reels two to five and will substitute for any other regular symbol. When the wild forms part of a win, it expands to cover the entire reel.
Scatters
Unlike most casino games of this nature, the Pirate’s Run slot does not feature a scatter symbol. In turn, that means you won’t find a free spins feature in this release.
Full Reels Multiplier
Anytime you form a win using the lower-paying fruit symbols, there’s a chance you’ll benefit from the Full Reels Multiplier. If the first three reels are entirely filled with the same symbol, you’ll secure 3x the usual return. Better still, if you can fill the fourth and fifth reels, that figure can grow to 4x and 5x.
Gamble Feature
After every win, you’ll have the option to gamble. By playing the gamble feature, you must guess the color of the card that’s turned face-down. If you choose correctly, you’ll double your win. But if you guess wrong, you lose all of the cash.
Of course, you don’t have to play at all. If you do, you can also choose to bank half of the win, only gambling the remainder of the money.
How to Play Pirate's Run Online
Pirate’s Run follows the basic rules of most online slots. Use the plus and minus icons to select a bet, then start a game round by hitting the circular arrow button below the grid. Wins are formed from the left to right, with rewards for two or more symbols on a payline.
Should you wish, you can enable the Autoplay feature which allows for an infinite number of spins. Remember though, using this means you cannot exploit the gamble feature.

Pirate's Run Review – Our Final Verdict
The pirate genre is a well-trodden path. Although SYNOT Games has done a solid, if unspectacular job with this slot, they’ve not really contributed anything new. The classic 5x3 grid and simple gamble feature ensures that the game has all the trappings of a classic vintage release.
Crisp graphics and an epic soundtrack are certainly highlights, while slick animations reveal that the game is more modern than its features suggest. The Full Reel Multiplier is not something you see everyday, either, and this is the closest we get to genuine innovation. But the Pirate's Run slot doesn’t even offer a free spins bonus and, at times, it lacks that bit of punch.
The developer claims an RTP of up to 97.97%, but we’re yet to see such a game. We only know of a 95.97% version, which is bang average. Coupled with a low maximum win of 500x, we’re just left wanting that little bit more. That said, if you’re a casual gamer, the low minimum bet will certainly appeal.
