European Roulette

European Roulette, or Giochi Da Casino Europea, is a thrilling casino game that originated in France during the 18th century. Players drop a small ball onto a spinning wheel with numbered slots and bet on where it will land – correctly predicting the outcome earns them money. The game offers various bets which offer different probabilities of winning; however, it's important to remember this form of gambling should always be played responsibly.

How To Play European Roulette

European Roulette

European Roulette requires a wheel with 37 alternating red and black pockets, akin to French Roulette. These pockets are numbered from 1 to 36, plus an additional green pocket marked 0. The croupier will place the ball outside the wheel and spin it until it rests in one of the pockets associated with the winning number.

Players then place their chips on the green carpet in one or more positions in anticipation that this is where the ball will land. Shortly after, when all bets have been placed, the croupier throws the ball and announces its end; upon announcing which pocket has been won by displaying its number on a board next to them, the game concludes.

What Are Inside and Outside Bets

European Roulette offers two types of bets – inside and outside. Inside bets are placed on the numbered section of the table layout and include single numbers or a range, while outside wagers are made in the outer area, offering even–money, column or dozen options.

Inside Bets:

  • Full Number: Bet placed on every single digit, including 0, and on the same number. Pays 35 to 1.
  • Horse: Bet includes two neighboring numbers and is placed on the line that divides them. Can include 0 and 1, 0 and 2, and 0 and 3. Pays 17 to 1.
  • Triplet: Bet includes all three numbers in a row placed at the end of the row or with other stake options like 0, 1, 2; 0, 2, 3. Pays 11 to 1.
  • Quatrain: Bet on a group of four numbers placed at the corner where their lines cross or in the angle between 0, 1, 2, and 3. Pays 8 to 1.
  • Line: Bet on six numbers (or two rows of these numbers) placed at the end of the two rows, on the line between them. Pays 5 to 1.

Outside Bets:

  • Column Bet: Place the chip at the bottom of the column containing 12 numbers. If any of these numbers hit, you will win with 2 to 1-odds.
  • Dozen Bet: Choose one of three boxes labeled "1-12," "13-24," or "25-36," which covers 12 numbers in total. A successful wager yields a payout of 2 to 1.
  • Color Bet: Covers all red or black numbers on the table layout and can be placed by placing a chip in either the Red or Black box. The winning number from chosen color pays out 1 to 1 odds.
  • Odd/Even Bets: Refer to all even or odd numbers on the table layout and can be made by putting a chip in either section labeled Even or Odd. The number from that category pays
  • 1 to 1. Low/High Bet: Betting on either low (1-18) or high (19-36) numbers. Place chips in either the Low or High section, and if any number is hit, receive payouts of 1 to 1.

Summary

European Roulette, or Giochi Da Casino Europea, is one of the most popular casino games. Players place their bets on where they think the ball will land after spinning a wheel with numbered slots – inside bets directly on numbers and outside bets such as column, dozen, color, odd/even and low/high.

The house edge for European Roulette is 2.7%, so it's essential to know the odds before playing and to play responsibly.
